Week 3 - LAST week before presentations!

DUE TODAY VIA EMAIL: PowerPoint AND Written Work

Please read EVERYTHING below before you begin today. If you have questions, read it one more time, then ask a group member. If you still have a question, scroll down to a previous week. Your answer might be in there. As the last resort, if you are really stuck, ask your teacher.

Guiding question for today...keep this in mind as you finalize your presentation:
What does it take to create something that has an impact on others?

(As a class) watch this video: YouTube - Pimp My PowerPoint
Are you guilty of a boring PowerPoint?  Change it!  You have today to make something that you will be proud to present to your classmates.  To be successful at this presentation, you need to really take the time to learn about your innovator.  That will give you room for the creativity.

Student FAQs:

  • What is the outline for the presentation again?  Click here to access the document with the outline.  You can edit this for your written work.  Here is a link to the outline for our PowerPoint and written work.  Hint: Your written work should become your notes for your PowerPoint...that will help you avoid a boring presentation.  :)
  • How do I cite my sources?
    1. After each item in parenthesis, write the website title.  Example: (Social Innovator)
    2. At the end of your presentation, include a slide with a list of your sources:
  • Is Wikipedia a reliable source?  No.  Use the website posted last week (scroll below).  Do a search.  Read newspaper articles.  There is a wealth of knowledge out there to be found.  It's waiting for you.  Take a look.
  • How will my presentation be graded? Click here to access a copy of the rubric.
