PART I: Introduction to Careers

In today's lesson you will be introduced to the difference between a career and a job.  You'll also begin to think about your personality and your interests and how you might be able to find a career to match them.

During the PowerPoint Presentation, you will follow along with your guide and answer each of the questions.

Please submit the guide document to your WPL teacher because you will need to reference it next week and next semester!

PART II: Researching Careers

Using what you've learned from today's lesson, begin to explore possible careers using the following resources:

  • Occupational Outlook Handbook
  • Career Overview
  • Occupational Information Network
  • Occupational Outlook Quarterly
  • Mapping Your Future
  • The Sloan Career Cornerstone Center

Using the same Word document you started for your Do Now, record your research and what careers you find that match your personality and interests.

HOMEWORK:

Continue researching using the above resources.  Save and send your findings to your WPL teacher with the heading "Intro to Careers Research"
